New Officers and Board members 2024

David Rhodes, Director of the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste, was elected president by the board, upon the departure of Amy Miller, P.E., who recently left her position as director of the Madison County Department of Solid Waste. She served as president since 2022.

Josh Olbrys, executive director of the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, was elected to serve as vice president.

Tyson Robb of the Delaware County Department of Public Works was elected to replace Josh as secretary.

At the fall conference held in Lake Placid, Sue McIntyre was re-elected to a 2-year term as treasurer.

Others re-elected at the conference were:

Melissa Rotini of the Westchester County DEF, 3-year term as Director East 1

Christine Fetten, Commission of Recycling & Sustainable Materials Management for the Town of Brookhaven, 3-year term as Director South 2.

Melissa Rotini, an attorney with the Westchester Co. DEF, 3-year term as Director East 1.

Todd Perry, executive director of the Franklin County SWMA, 3-year term as Director North 2.

Newly elected positions were:

  • Andrew Opperman, P.E., solid waste engineer with the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, 3-year term as Director, Central 2.

  • Michael Lutestanski II, Director of Solid Waste in Oswego County, to fill the remainder of an at-large position, until 2024.

  • Aaron Gustafson of the Chautauqua County DPW-Environment, to fill the remainder of the Director, West 2 term until 2024.

  • Greg Gelewski, Interim Director of the Madison County DSW, was appointed in February to fill out an at-large position through 2026
